INTRODUCTION

Hibernian Private School is a boutique secondary school educating students with compassion, equity, and inclusion. Hibernian provides an alternative to the traditional school setting, so every student has a safe, supportive academic home.

Established in 2001, small classroom sizes have been a cornerstone of Hibernian since the beginning. Class sizes range from 2-10 students offering personalized education in every class.

Hibernian serves grades 6-12.

No two Hibernian students are alike, but what most have in common is their struggles in traditional school settings.

It may have been shyness, academic challenges, bullying, mental health, attendance issues, or the need for an abbreviated schedule that brought them here, but we are happy to have them!


Jeff Loomis

JEFF LOOMIS

HEAD OF SCHOOL

Bringing 31 years of private school experience to Hibernian Private School, Mr. Loomis has held numerous roles including math and science teacher, vice principal, dean of academics, and head of school. He spent most of his time in New York before moving to Florida in 2020.

Mr. Loomis worked at Saint Gregory’s School in Loudonville, New York on 3 different occasions holding many positions. He started his career as a classroom instructor and after 3 years received a promotion to head the upper school division. Upon his return in 2006, he was the dean of academics for 3 years before becoming the head of school, a position he held for 7 years. Mr. Loomis also worked at La Salle Institute in Troy, New York for 12 years holding the positions of vice principal, middle school principal, and campus president.

Mr. Loomis has received membership in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers on 5 different occasions and in 2002, was the National Lasallian Educator of the Year. He holds a master’s degree in educational administration and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics

Lisa Herman

LISA HERMAN

Owner & chief administrator

Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Lisa graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before moving to New York City in pursuit of a career during an economic recession. After nearly 10 years of experience in digital marketing, Lisa moved into the role of Chief Administrator at Hibernian where she manages the day-to-day operations of the school as well as teaching some History and elective courses.
